The Notary Office

A notary public is an officer who notarises the bachelorhood affidavit. He works at the ground level, attesting the document in the court.

The Sub Divisional Magistrate

A short for Sub-Divisional Magistrate, the SDM is competent to authorize the single status certificate in India at the district level. They verify the affidavit before counter-attending it to prove that it is valid from all aspects.

The Ministry of External Affairs

Also called the Ministry of External Affairs, the MEA is the topmost authority working in the center that you cannot skip for attestation. The MEA has appointed a few agencies to collect and vouch for NRIs or emigrants’ attestation services in all states of India to ease the process. Thus, the MEA attestation can be perceived as a final step of verification for your document.

Steps For Registration

1. Place your order through the NRIWAY website, as directed on the portal
2. Your documents would be tracked and uploaded on the portal
3. The Verification for documents would be conducted and a quotation would be raised accordingly
4. An interim or advance payment would be raised
5. When the payment is made, the order starts getting processed
6. Final payment and unmasked copy uploading is processed
7. Shipping charges are raised for international orders (domestic order shipments are free)
8. Order is dispatched

Procedure 

1. Once the bachelorhood/single status has been secured from the SDM/competent court. The Attestation Section of the Consular, Passport & Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, will attest/apostille the bachelorhood/single status certificate.
2. (Same process to be followed of uploading masked copy and after final payment unmasked)
